Kiwi music legend and well-known sporting family have joined forces to create this wonderful retreat and nature sanctuary. 

Dave McArtney and Donna Mills, partners for over 30 years, have truly realized their dream.

Wellspring te Waipunaora Trust was formed in 1997 by Donna and a small group of friends dedicated to working co-creatively with nature, to connect with its pure vibration, conveying to us its intelligence, educating us in its magical way, releasing and dissolving the accumulated tensions in our busy existence.

We wanted to see how possible it is to reach total utilization of sustainable environmental practices, such as waste disposal and renewable power sources. We started by installing solar heating – domestic hotwater and central heating energized by 84 square metres of solar panels – and an extensive ENVIROFLOW sewage and grey water disposal system which is designed to cater for the needs of 100 people.

And what a place for Dave to be inspired in his songwriting duties! Inbetween carving up the fresh powder on the slopes of Mt. Ruapehu , during the months of July to October!
